The Work Behind the Work: Capacity Building Grants Support 9 Local Nonprofits
Great programs need great organizations behind them. To help build that strength from the inside out, nine nonprofits across Northwest Ohio, spanning Allen, Lucas, Putnam, Sandusky, and Wood counties were collectively awarded $131,503 from the John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation through their 2026 Capacity Building grants.

To fuel this local impact, the John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation is honored to announce just over $2 million in 2026 Growth & Resilience investments awarded to 78 organizations across more than 10 counties, supporting the vital networks that ensure regional neighbors are fed, housed, and educated.

The John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation is pleased to announce that applications for its Growth and Resilience grants will open on Feb. 2, 2026. These one-year grants are designed to support nonprofit organizations in Northwest Ohio as they strengthen operations, expand programs, and build resilience in the face of ongoing community challenges.
John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation to Accept Spring Grant Applications Starting January 31
The John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation is pleased to announce that applications for its Spring Grant Cycle will open on January 31, 2025. This opportunity allows 501(c)(3) organizations in Northwest Ohio to apply for grants of up to $30,000 to support initiatives in housing stability, food security, and youth education.
